May 2, 1933 ~ September 22, 2023 (age 90) 90 Years Old
James White of Ellington and formerly of Colchester and Glastonbury, passed away at his residence on September 22, 2023. He was 90 years old. James was born in Broxburn Scotland on May 2, 1933. He was a son of the late James White Sr., and Jane (Madden) White. James played soccer, violin and saxophone as a young man. He married his beloved wife, Christina Cook on April 2, 1966. They met at the Palais Dancing and their love story began from there. The couple made their home and their livelihood at the same location, running a convenience store attached to the home. They emigrated to America in 1980, settling in Glastonbury. Christina predeceased him in 2011. In his spare time, he loved working on and fixing up his prized Jaguar, watching westerns and listening to Perry Como and Frank Sinatra. Most importantly, he will be remembered as a loving husband, father, and grandfather. He will be sadly missed but always remembered with love by his children, Elaina and husband Gary Charbonneau of Ellington, Wendy and husband James Stewart of Camden, SC; grandchildren, Zachary James and Amanda Jane Charbonneau; and many extended family members and friends. In addition to his wife and parents, he was predeceased by two brothers, Davie and Arthur White. Funeral services will be held at the Aurora-McCarthy Funeral Home, 167 Old Hartford Rd., Colchester on Sunday, October 1, 2023 from 11 - 12 PM. Burial will be private.
