Janice Morgenstein of Lebanon, passed away at Middlesex Hospital on April 11, 2023, after a difficult illness. Her beloved and attentive family was by her side to the end. She was 88 Years old. Born November 11, 1934, in Brooklyn, NY, she was a daughter of the late Phillip and Esther (Seigel) Goroshnik. Janice married the love of her life on May 27, 1951. The couple would spend 72 years together before his passing just 18 days earlier on March 23, 2023. She retired in 2020 after working with her family as the Bookkeeper at the Bozrah Hardware Store. Janice was often heard saying “Family comes first”. Her life was devoted to all of them. Some of her most memorable moments were with them traveling extensively in the States and Abroad, or taking Sunday car rides, sitting down to a nice dinner together, going gaming with the girls, going on the annual women’s shopping weekend, or just enjoying her favorite ice cream dish, the banana split. Janice was also devoted to her Jewish faith. She was a member of Ahavath Achim Synagogue in Colchester and was also a past member and president of Hadassah there. Janice was a talented knitter creating unique Afghans which she generously gave to family, friends and she also donated many to strangers in need through the Colchester Lions Club. To countless people, her memory will be a blessing. She will be sadly missed but always remembered with love by her children and their spouses, Steven (Henrietta) Morgenstein, Maureen (John) Noblet, David (Anais) Morgenstein, Robin (Jim) Page; a sister, Sheila (Tootsie) Baily; grandchildren, Rebecca, Jason, Pamela, Matthew, Jamie; great grandchildren, Adrian, Kylie, Ava, Jordan, and Justin; and numerous extended family members and friends. In addition to her husband and parents, she was predeceased by a brother, Norman (Sonny) Goroshnik. The graveside funeral service will be held on Sunday, April 16, 2023 at 1 PM directly at Ahavath Achim Cemetery, Taintor Hill Road, Colchester.
