Jean Coxeter of Hebron CT passed away peacefully at home on July 3, 2020 in her 90th year. Born on April 27, 1931, she was the daughter of the late Harry and Maida (Hallett) Coxeter. She grew up on the beach, spending many hours there, and that love continued throughout her life. She loved to play cards, pinochle, hearts, and ulcer rummy. Many holiday meals ended with card games played into the wee hours of the morning. She was an avid quilter, loved counted cross stitch, and making doilies. In fact, there wasn’t a type of needle work she didn’t master. She always had at least six projects in progress and five more being planned. Her work was particularly well known for its creativity, detail, and precision. Jean is survived by her children; Jeanne Cahill, Patricia Clark, Raymond Cahill, Peter Cahill, Daniel Cahill, Matthew Cahill and Mary Spalter as well as her brother, Fred Coxeter, and her five grandchildren. She will be missed by her family and numerous friends. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her sister Reinee Coxeter. Jean will always be remembered with love and admiration. In accordance with her wishes, all services will be private. The Aurora-McCarthy Funeral Home of Colchester has been entrusted with the care of arrangements.
