Jeffery Duigou Obituary

Jeffery John Duigou, 65, of Colchester, CT passed away on July 14, 2025, peacefully, surrounded by his loving family and friends.

He was born February 15, 1960 in Waterbury, CT, the son of Mary Narus and Gaston Duigou.

Jeff grew up in East Hartford, CT, in a loving family with two sisters, Cheryl and Cynthia, and one brother, Gregory, and a neighborhood full of friends and cherished memories. Jeff remained friends with many of his friends made during his childhood.

Graduating from Penney High School in 1978, Jeff went on to the University of Connecticut, earning a Bachelor’s Degree in 1983. He was particularly inspired by the scientific conservationism efforts of the time, such as the work of Jacques Cousteau and the marine environmentalism efforts of which Jeff spent the majority of his research time.

Jeff married the love of his life, Cari [McCann] Duigou on June 23,1984 in Manchester, CT. The couple celebrated 41 years of marriage together until Jeff’s passing. The two were inseparable, and enjoyed many trips together to Cape Cod, an anniversary in Hawaii, and family vacations with their three wonderful children: Jeff Jr., Evan, and Lindsay.

He had a successful career as a licensed environmental professional, specializing in several remediation projects across the state of Connecticut, the US, and abroad. He was integral to projects spanning school remediations across Connecticut to securing natural gas to the Bahamas and the Caribbean. He worked in his field for more than 30 years until he retired.

Jeff enjoyed volunteering in scouting, sports and helping his town and local community both during his working years and later. He enjoyed camping with his family each year, tailgating before the UConn Football games every season and cooking for his family and friends. He loved his dogs, Rosie and Daisy while retired.  During retirement, Jeff got involved in his community to help his fellow townspeople, also becoming a Templar Knight, to which he was a loyal member.

He will be remembered as a devoted family man, devout Catholic, as well as an eager servant to help make life a little bit better for others in his community. He truly cared for others and he will be dearly missed by his family and friends.

He is survived by his loving wife Cari and their three children; Jeffery Jr., Evan and Sarah (Barning) Duigou, and Lindsay and Ryan Baron; three grandchildren; Aubriella, Roan and Finnley Baron; brother Gregory and sister Cheryl Haynes; as well as cherished in-laws, nieces, nephews and lifelong friends.

Calling hours will be on July 23, 2025 from 5:00 to 7:00 pm at St. Andrews Church at 128 Norwich Ave., Colchester, CT. On July 24, 2025, a funeral Mass will take place at St. Andrews Church, followed by burial at the new St. Andrews Cemetery on Gillette’s Lane.
