Jeffrey "Jeff" Hatch Obituary

Jeffrey “Jeff” Hatch, 64, of Lebanon, passed away unexpectedly Tuesday, December 22nd, 2020.

Jeff was born August 17th, 1956 in New London, to the late Raymond C. and Clara (Waite) Hatch.

Jeff grew up in Quaker Hill, and was a 1974 graduate of Waterford High School. Following high school, he went on to join the US Army Corp of Engineers where he found his passion of running heavy equipment. Upon his return, he dedicated his life to his love of machinery and pursued a career in the construction field.

Jeff never turned down the opportunity to help any neighbor, friend, or family member in need. He could always be found lending a hand with any project, whether it be plowing driveways in the winter, building an animal pen, shed, or garage, installing a new fence – there was no project too big or too small.

Jeff had a great love for the outdoors and could be found enjoying archery, riding his motorcycle, appreciating a quiet moment feeding his ducks, or operating anything with a motor. He had a creative knack and could build, create, or craft just about anything with his hands.

In his later years, Jeff moved to the Amston Lake area and became a part of the lake community where he spent time honing his skills as a wood craftsman, and walking his beloved dogs, Shelby and Hunter, alongside of his neighbors.

With a laugh that could light up any room he walked into, Jeff will be deeply missed and loved by his family, and all of those whose lives his kind spirit and bright smile have touched.

Jeff is survived by siblings Gary Hatch of Dayville, Janet (Jim) Seaver of Moosup, Diane Buonanno of Montville, Patricia (David) Grudier of Oakdale, and Richard (Wanda) Hatch of Uncasville, along with many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

He is pre-deceased by both parents, brother Glenn Hatch, niece Kaitlynn Hatch, and brother-in-law Joseph Buonanno.

A private ceremony will be held at a later date for the family. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to any local dog rescue or shelter of the donor’s choice, in memory of Jeff.
