Jennie Theresa (Boluck) Lenkiewicz, of Colchester, passed away peacefully at her home on June 3, 2024. She was 91 years old. Jenny was also born in Colchester, on March 11, 1933, a daughter of the late Samuel and Julia (Makyk) Boluck. The family was a Gold Star Family with her brother being memorialized as the Adler Buluck, VFW Post 6990, Colchester. Jennie later went on to become a member of the VFW Auxiliary there. Jennie was a graduate of Bacon academy with the class of 1951. She later went on to earn her degree in Nursing. She married her husband, Thomas Walter Lenkiewicz on August 15, 1953. The couple made their home in Colchester where they raised their three children. Tom predeceased her on March 30, 2019. She was a communicant of St. Andrew Church and former President for two terms with the Colchester Historical Society. Jennie retired several years ago. Her career changed over time, working as a nurse in Colchester for the late Dr. Israel, Borrow Clerk for the Town of Colchester, S&S Worldwide, Clerk for Belmont Funeral Home and, overnights at Backus Hospital in charge of the Pediatric wing. Jennie loved gardening in her own backyard, and most importantly, she was a loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She leaves her children and their spouses, Lori (Peter) Desautel of Colchester, Thomas (Kathleen) Lenkiewicz of Hebron, Dave Lenkiewicz of Lebanon; grandchildren, Jennie Desautel, Adam (Kylie) Desautel, Jason (Ingrid) Lenkiewicz, Allison Lenkiewicz; a great grandson, Parker; a nephew, Brian Bourgoin; and many extended family members and friends including her in-home caregiver, Theresa. In addition to her husband and parents, she was predeceased by a grandson, Matthew Desautel, a niece, Linda Bourgoin and siblings, John (KIA), Nicholas, and Frank Boluck, Dorothy Gorick and Ann Smyk. A funeral Mass will be celebrated directly at St. Andrew Church, 128 Norwich Ave. Colchester on Wednesday, June 5th at 11am. Burial will follow in Linwood Cemetery. There are no calling hours.
