Joan Louise Esposito, 69 of Colchester, passed away on the evening of Tuesday, February 11, 2025. Born March 21, 1955, in Brooklyn, NY; she was the daughter of the late John and Dolores (Labbate) Esposito. Shortly after graduating high school, she went to work for the Hartford Insurance Company at their Long Island branch. She was a quick learner and devoted worker; her talents were noticed very early on as she rose through the ranks of the company and ultimately spent 34 years with the company until her retirement in 2011.

It was while working at Hartford Insurance that Joan met her future husband, Patrick Roach. They moved from Long Island to Colchester in the early 1980’s and raised their daughter Lauren. Joan was married to the love of her life for 43 wonderful years. Joan was a natural leader, a woman who could command any room she entered. She was a force professionally and personally and she loved her family fiercely. She was passionate about music, musicals, cooking, an avid reader, and loved following politics and reality television. During her retirement she embraced her new role as a grandmother completely. She loved to spend time with her granddaughters. She loved to cook with them and teach her favorite recipes. She was constantly online researching the latest trends in tech, fashion, toys, skin care and hairstyles to share with them. She loved giving gifts; nothing brought her more joy than seeing her loved ones smile. 

Joan will be missed but forever loved by her husband, Patrick Roach; her daughter Lauren and husband Jerome Craig; granddaughters Ruby, Ava and Ivy Craig; and numerous other extended family and friends.

Calling hours will be held on Saturday, March 1st 2025 at the Aurora-McCarthy Funeral Home 167 Old Hartford Rd, Colchester, CT from 12-2 PM with a 2 PM memorial service. The burial will be private at the convenience of the family.
