John “Jack” Willard Winder, 74, of Colchester, passed away peacefully at home with his devoted wife Rosa at his side on Saturday, March 5, 2022. Born June 24, 1947 in Johnstown, PA; he was the son of the late W.H. and Ruth (Shaw) Winder. For years Jack worked at Pratt & Whitney in various departments until his retirement in 2001. In addition to his wife Rosa, he will be forever loved and remembered by his children Carrie (Mark) Livingstone, John (Krissey) Winder, and Kimberly Jones; grandchildren Dakota, Taylor, John M., Cameron, Kaleb, and PFC. Shawn (Kayla); sister Jeanne Gmeiner; and numerous other extended family and friends. In addition to his parents he is also predeceased by a sister, Louise Yuntz. Jack valiantly fought several serious illnesses simultaneously this past year, but ultimately lost his courageous battle to multiple myeloma bone cancer. Calling hours will be held on Friday, March 11, 2022 from 2-5 PM at the Aurora-McCarthy Funeral Home, 167 Old Hartford Rd, Colchester, CT. In lieu of flowers the family asks that memorial donations be made to the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital www.stjude.org or to the Shriners Hospitals for Children www.shrinershospitalforchildren.org For online condolences, please visit www.auroramccarthyfuneralhome.com
