Joseph Manuel Dias, 76, of Colchester, passed away on Friday, August 16, 2024, at Apple Rehab surrounded by his family. Born October 1, 1947, in Bridgeport, CT; he was the son of the late Joseph and Antionette Martins Dias. Joseph was a graduate of Fairfield University and later enlisted in the United States Army Reserves. On November 30th, 1974, he married his wife, Christine Bryan, they settled in Colchester, CT. where they raised their family. Joseph always had an entrepreneurial spirit, he started his own CPA firm and was the owner and operator of Misty Rose Farms where he trained, boarded, and bred Paso Fino horses. He was a member of the Colchester Business Association and Colchester Lions Club as well as Treasurer of the Nutmeg German Shorthaired Pointer Club. In his spare time, he enjoyed Archery and in his younger years he enjoyed S.C.U.B.A. diving and he and his wife Christine would pilot small engine aircrafts.  He is survived by his wife Christine Dias; children Joseph Ralph Dias and spouse Kelsey Guggenheim, Christine Dias Wright and spouse Blake Wright; grandchildren Joseph William Dias and Maeve Elizabeth Dias; and numerous other extended family and friends. Care of private arrangements have been entrusted to the Aurora-McCarthy Funeral Home of Colchester.
