Joseph Henry Fleischmann, 87, of Glastonbury, passed away peacefully in the early morning of November 27 surrounded by family at home. Joseph grew up in Rome, Italy, and moved to the United States as a young child. He attended Windsor Mt. School in Lenox, Massachusetts and graduated from the University of Delaware in 1956, after which he was drafted into the Army, where he served for several years. Joseph worked at Hartford National Bank until 1998 and was an active volunteer at the Manchester Memorial Hospital and the Hartford Stage. Joseph was a member of Glastonbury Chabad and the Jewish War Veterans. He was predeceased by his late wife Lois Fleischmann, step-daughter Marci, step-son Ronald, mother-in-law Anna Mintz, brother-in-law George Chemerynski and sister-in-law Carol Chemerynski. Joseph is survived by his three grandchildren, Ethan Gaudette, Natalie Gaudette, and Tara (Nathan) Bruno, great-grandchildren Luca and Rocco, his sister, Susan (James Gordon) Fleischmann of Seattle, WA, girlfriend of over eleven years, Gail Freedman, and many special nieces and nephews. A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, November 29, 2022 at 11 AM directly at the Ahavath Achim Cemetery on Taintor Hill Rd in Colchester. In memory of Joseph, donations may be made to Chabad Jewish Center (25 Harris Street, Glastonbury, CT, 06033) or to the Jewish War Veterans (Sgt. John L. Levitow Post 45 P.O.
