Kathleen Culhane, of Colchester, passed away on May 1, 2024, at Middlesex Hospital after a sudden illness. She was 70 years old. Kathleen was born in Brooklyn, NY on May 19, 1953, a daughter of the late John and Marion (McCarthy) Culhane. Kathleen grew up in Colchester on the Seven C’s horse farm. She graduated from Notre Dame Catholic High School. Kathleen was a parishioner of St. Andrew Catholic Church in Colchester throughout her lifetime. She retired several years ago after a career in insurance at both Traveler’s and AETNA Insurance companies. Kathleen was a very active member in her hometown community. She was a member and secretary of the Colchester Garden Club, a member of the Book Club and Quilting Club, a member and secretary of the former Colchester Grange, and a member of the Mt. Laurel Ski Club. Most importantly, fondly known as Kathy, she was an ever devoted and loving sister and aunt to her eight beloved nieces and nephews. Her loss will be mourned by many, but she will always be remembered with love. Kathy leaves her siblings and their spouses, Tom ( Patricia) Culhane of Colchester, Gary (Lucille) Culhane of Parker, CO, Vincent Culhane of Colchester; Nephews and Nieces, Racheal Follacchio, Thomas (Kristen) Culhane, Steven Culhane, David Culhane, Christopher Culhane, Kelly Culhane, Sara Culhane and Fiancé, Sean Walsh, Jonathan Culhane, and Matthew Culhane; and many extended family members and friends. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her sister, Eileen. Calling hours will be held at the Aurora-McCarthy Funeral Home, 167 Old Hartford Rd., Colchester on Friday May 10, 2024 from 4 – 6 PM. and again on Saturday morning, May 11, 2024 from 9:00 – 10 AM. Followed by a celebration of the Funeral Mass at 10:30 AM at St. Francis of Assisi Church. Burial will follow in New Saint Andrew Cemetery.
