Kathleen Louise Quinn

Kathleen Louise Quinn, 61, of East Haddam, passed away on Tuesday, July 20, 2021. Born July 26, 1959 in Camden, New Jersey; she was a daughter of the late John T. Quinn, Jr. and Joan “GiGi”(Strassel) Quinn. Kathleen obtained her Master’s Degree from UConn West Hartford School of Social Work in 1985. She worked for numerous agencies as a Social Worker Administrator and held a deep passion for her work assisting the underserved and disenfranchised persons in her community. She would often go out of her way and go the extra mile for her clients, whom she cared for like they were an extension of her own family. Kathleen, better known by her nickname “Sassy” by those closest to her, because of her spunky personality, will always be remembered as a devoted friend, mother, aunt, and sister. She would always take the time to make sure everyone in her life knew just how important they were to her. Whether it was spending hours talking to you on the phone, or filling your stomach with her home cooked meals, like her famous chicken cutlets and spaghetti, she always made sure that you knew how much she cared. She loved to travel whenever the opportunity presented itself, and in her youth had backpacked around Europe. In her spare time, she enjoyed the simple pleasures in life, like singing along to her favorite music in the car, watching the relaxing waves of the ocean move along the beach, curling up with a good book in front of her fireplace with her dog Bandit by her side, or playing board games with her friends and family. She was always a gratuitous hostess who would go out of her way to make friends and family alike feel welcomed in her full happy home. She is survived by her boyfriend Robert-Gene Ogman; her son Ryan Quinn and his girlfriend Chelsey; her sister Anne-Marie Bajwa and husband Zahoor Bajwa; her brother John T. Quinn III; her uncle Richard Strassel; niece and nephews Rabia Lindstrom and her husband Dan Lindstrom, Harris Bajwa, and Asif Bajwa and his wife Jenny; lifelong friend Nannette LaTremouille; her dog Bandit; and numerous other extended family and friends.
