Keith Roger Bishel Obituary

Keith Roger Bishel 66, of Colchester, CT, passed away on May 1, 2025, at Hartford Hospital. Born on May 15, 1958, in Middletown, CT, he was the son of the late Arthur and Elizabeth (Roberts) Bishel. Keith was a dedicated security professional, serving for many years at the Millstone Nuclear Power Plant in Waterford, CT, and holding various other security positions throughout his career. His commitment to safety and vigilance was a testament to his strong work ethic and sense of responsibility. He was a lifelong member of the Free Masons, but the most important membership in his life was being a member of his family, who he cherished along with his beloved dog, Minnie. He was also an avid cigar enthusiast, often enjoying a quiet moment with a cigar in hand. Keith was also an avid fan of the Bacon Academy wrestling program because his late son, Matthew Bishel was a member of the team. Keith is survived by his wife, Lisa (Desnoyers) Bishel; daughter, Danielle Bishel, and her partner, Carlos Garcia; sister, Lori Murrey and her husband Steven; brother, Scott Bishel and wife Lynn; father and mother-in-law, Roland and Katherine Desnoyers; brother-in-law, James Desnoyers; two children from a previous marriage; and numerous extended family members and friends. In addition to his parents and son, he was predeceased by his sister, Holly Bishel, and nephew, Philip Coulombe. A memorial Mass will be held on Saturday, May 17, 2025, at 11:00 AM at St. Andrew Church, 128 Norwich Avenue, Colchester, CT 06415, followed by burial at Westchester Center Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Keith's memory to a charity of choice. Online condolences may be left at www.auroramccarthyfuneralhome.com.
