Kenneth A. Lathrop

Kenneth A. Lathrop “Kal”, 61, of Lebanon, passed away February 13, 2021 at home after a brief illness. Born on November 19, 1959 he was the son of Gretchen (Grabber) and the late Kenneth H. Lathrop. Kal grew up in Lebanon and was a proud, life member of the Lions Club for over 30 years.  Every year he would take a week of vacation to be able to help prepare the fairgrounds for the annual Lebanon Fair. He worked as a mechanic for Jim Grover Trucking Co. in Lebanon and the Affordable CDL training school in Colchester.  Kal loved anything mechanical and there wasn't anything he couldn't fix. He had a passion for working on vintage cars in his spare time and enjoyed cruising around town in the summertime in his self restored 1967 Chevelle and a dune buggy that he built. When he wasn’t working on cars he enjoyed kayaking at Lake Williams and traveling up to the family cottage in Maine. He is survived by his mother Gretchen Lathrop of Lebanon, brother Ronald A. Lathrop of Lebanon, sisters Terry (and Joe) Halbardier of Lebanon, and Jane G. Lathrop of Maine; his nieces and nephews Steven Lathrop (and family Nickie, Gabby, Aria and Eli) of ME, Jeremy Halbardier (and family Terri, Dominic and Ethan) of WA, Brittany Halbardier (and Keyvin Lewis) of Enfield, CT,  Jordan Halbardier (and Miranda Murphy) of Hebron, CT; his dear friend Laura Casio of Amston, CT; and numerous family and friends.  A memorial service will be held at 2 pm on February 27th at The First Congregational Church in Lebanon, those who wish to attend must wear masks and practice social distancing. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in Kal’s name to the Lebanon Lions Club, P.O.
