Kevin Ferreira, age 26, of Colchester, tragically lost his life on Wednesday, August 19th due to injuries he sustained during a motorcycle accident. Born in Hartford on March 18, 1994, he was the son of Carmen Gonzalez & Julian Ferreira. Kevin grew up in Colchester with his mom and his older brother, Isaac. He studied HVAC at Norwich Technical High School, where he graduated with the class of 2012. Kevin was employed at Mohegan Sun Casino in Uncasville.
Kevin was one of a kind; his smile could light up even the darkest of rooms and he had a magnetic personality that just made everyone fall in love with him. A kind & gentle soul, Kevin was never afraid to give affection or to show his emotions. You never had to wonder where you stood with him; he always made sure his loved ones knew just how much he loved and appreciated them. Kevin & his mother shared a very special relationship; she was his queen and he made sure everyone knew how wonderful she is. He was a total social butterfly who loved to laugh & just have a good time. Kevin also enjoyed traveling & riding his motorcycle, but his real passion was creating music; he put his heart & soul into his poetic artistry.
Kevin will never be forgotten; he will be loved & missed endlessly by his mother, Carmen Gonzalez of Colchester; his father, Julian Ferreira of the Dominican Republic; his brother, Isaac Ferreira of Norwich; his beloved grandmother, Rosa Miranda of Juncos, Puerto Rico who was very special to him; his aunt, Ana Rivera & her husband, Jose of Newington; his uncles, Carmelo Gonzalez & his wife, Loida Reyes of Wethersfield and Hector Gonzalez & his wife, Emelie Lozada of Juncos, Puerto Rico; his treasured friend & confidant, Aaliyah Gonzalez & her family, whom he loved dearly; along with numerous extended family members & far too many cherished friends to list by name.
Walk through calling hours for family & friends will be held on Friday, August 28th from 4-7pm at Aurora McCarthy Funeral Home, 167 Old Hartford Rd., Colchester. On Saturday, August 29th at 11:30am, Kevin will be laid to rest at Linwood Cemetery. Those wishing to attend the graveside services should meet directly at the cemetery.
