Notable memberships and achievements throughout his life include belonging to the scholastic honorary Society - Phi Kappa Phi, the music honorary society - Pi Kappa Lambda, the French honorary society - Pi Delta Phi and the Latin honorary society - Eta Sigma Phi and also the Appalachian Trail Club.
