Lillian A. Parsons (neé Kulikauskas), born January 22nd, 1935, passed away peacefully of natural causes in her Salem home. She died in the company of her loving daughters on August 7th, 2022.
Born to Lithuanian immigrants in Pennsylvania, Lillian was the middle of five children. Given her independent spirit, it is no surprise that she left home alone at age 17 and set off for Brooklyn, New York to seek a greater, more modern life for herself. She met her beloved husband Richard Parsons, a Navy boilerman, at Coney Island on a blind date. They had two wonderful daughters, Linda and Laura. The pair wed and moved all over the country as they followed Richard's Navy career before settling in Connecticut.
In an era before entrepreneurial women were celebrated, Lillian started her own business as a successful real estate broker in Colchester. She was well known for her boundless generosity, and was giving to a fault. The Parsons's colonial home in Colchester was a meeting house for grandchildren and their gaggles of friends, where Lillian would be waiting with candy, cakes, and freshly baked cookies to offer. She was affectionately known by many simply by the moniker "G".
Lillian was preceded in death by beloved husband Rick in 2009, and cherished grandson Kris in 2019. She is survived by daughters Linda and Laura Parsons, granddaughter Katie Marrotte, and grandson-in-law Kyle Marrotte. She will be greatly missed.
