Louis A. Menard, of Hebron, passed away at Hartford Hospital on November 23, 2022. He was 77 years old. Louis was born on November 24, 1945 in East Broughton, Canada. He married his beloved wife, Lisette Couture on July 13, 1968 and the very next day the couple emigrated to New Britain, CT and in 1974 they relocated to Hebron where they settled in to raise their two children. Louis was a hardworking man who was a Master Carpenter working for New Field Construction and also as an entrepreneur. He was a handyman and craftsman, there were no jobs he couldn’t tackle with expertise. Louis was a generous man, always willing and ready to help anyone who asked and never seeking accolades or recognition for his work. Louis would only take time away from work to travel abroad with his wife, Lisette which he enjoyed tremendously. In his spare time, Louis could be found taking part in some athletic sport such as skiing or skating or working on a challenging crossword puzzle. Most importantly, Louis will be remembered as a hardworking and devoted family man who never spoke ill about any other person. His passing will be mourned by all who knew him, especially is wife of 54 years, Lisette; his son, Eric Menard of Jefferson, MA; his daughter, Sandra Menard of Colchester; five grandchildren, Michelle and Joseph DesFosses, Thai-Ann, Ansley and Zara Menard; a great grandchild, Christian Weinberg; five siblings, Armand and his wife Sherry Menard of Cromwell, Huguette Arton of Berlin, Michael and his wife Kathy Menard of Wallingford, Helen Fauteux and Geatan Menard, both of Canada; and a host of extended family members and friends. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased in death by a brother, Daniel Menard. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at the Church of the Holy Family, Church St. Hebron on December 10th at 10:00 AM. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations in his memory be made to the charity of ones choice.
