Louis Rota Obituary

Louis Alan Rota, 64, of Colchester passed away Tuesday, July 28th with his family by his side. Born August 22, 1955; he was the son of the late Louis and Eleanor (Sanden) Rota. Lou was a talented auto body mechanic with a passion for cars and motorcycles. In his free time you could find him doing anything from restoring his home to making his famous Rota’s Red wine. His hobbies included playing softball, golfing, fishing, hunting & boating. He was a perfectionist who took pride in everything he did. His fondest memories were made while spending time with his family at the lake house in Maine where he and his daughter traveled to often.

Louie left a mark on everyone who had the pleasure of knowing him. He will be remembered as a kind, generous and witty man who loved his family, friends and dog Zorro. As one of his friends so beautifully put it, “Lou was and will always be a man to be remembered and respected. His strength in body and in character could never be replicated.”

Lou is survived by his daughter Asia, her husband Jayme Stone and their children Autumn, Bentley, Layla & Nash of Tolland, CT; His sister and her husband Jill and Russell Cooke of Newburyport, MA; his two brothers Dane Rota of Mason, NH and Curt Rota of Glastonbury, CT; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his brother Jay Gugerty.

In accordance with his wishes, all services will be held privately. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to Saint Jude Hospital, www.stjude.org/donate.  The Aurora-McCarthy Funeral Home of Colchester has been entrusted with care of arrangements. For online condolences, please visit www.auroramccarthyfuneralhome.com
