Madeline L. (Semmelrock) Gocka

Madeline (Semmelrock) Gocka, 86, of Palm Harbor, FL and formerly of Lebanon, CT,  passed away peacefully Friday afternoon, Nov. 9, 2018.  She rejoined her late husband of nearly 59 years, Lucien A. Gocka, Sr.,  who predeceased her nearly 10 years to the day on Nov. 12, 2008.  Born March 30, 1932 in Lebanon, CT, she was the daughter of the late Ernest and Gladys (Fargo) Semmelrock.  In December of 1949, she and Lucien were married at Sacred Heart Church in Norwichtown.  A loving and devoted mother, she leaves three children, Josephine Bard and her husband Francis, of Palm Harbor, FL, Charles of Norwich and Richard of Norwichtown; her daughter-in-law, Kathy, of Lebanon; six grandchildren; six great grandchildren; and her brother, Ernest Semmelrock, Jr. of Maine.  In addition to her husband and parents, she was predeceased by her eldest son, Lucien A. Gocka, Jr.
Graveside services will be observed 11 AM Wednesday (Nov. 21st) at Maplewood Cemetery, 184 Salem Tpke., Norwich.  There are no calling hours.  In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to the Alzheimer's Association (www.alz.org).  Care of arrangements has been entrusted to the Aurora-McCarthy Funeral Home of Colchester.
