Marguerite R. Corsaro, fondly known as Peggy, passed away on October 21, 2025, at home in Simsbury, the Governor’s House Convalescent Home.  She was 100 years old.  Peggy was born in Chicopee, MA on August 21, 1925.  She was a daughter to the late Anton and Emily (Bliss) VanCedarfield. She married her beloved husband, Frank Corsaro.  They settled in Hartford and later moved to Windsor Locks where they built their home and raised their family. Frank predeceased her in 1989. Peggy was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother.  As a homemaker, she spent her days caring for her family and home.  She loved the outdoors, camping and fishing with her family and friends.  Peggy was a talented crafter with knit and crochet treasures that she gifted to everyone she knew.  She will be sadly missed but always remembered with love by all who knew her, especially her children and their spouses, Frank J. (Sandra) Corsaro of Westernport MD, Nancy R. (John “Allen”) Riege of East Granby; grandchildren, Scott (Angela) Corsaro of Eastford; three great grandchildren, Isabella and Georgie, and Frankie Corsaro; two brothers, David and Jack VanCedarfield; and many extended family members and friends.  In addition to her parents and husband Frank Corsaro, Peggy was also predeceased by her grandson, Dana Corsaro, her brothers, Lawrence, Harold, Ernest, Daniel, Francis and James VanCedarfield, her sisters Myrtle Bennett, Barbara Standish and Rachel VanCedarfield.

Funeral services will be held from the Aurora McCarthy Funeral Home, 167 Old Hartford Rd., Colchester on Saturday, October 25th, beginning with visitation from 10:30 - 11am, followed by a celebration of life service at the funeral home at 11am.  The burial will follow in the Linwood cemetery.  For online condolences or to share a memory of Peggy for her family, please visit www.auroramccarthyfuneralhome.com.
