Marilyn J. Kochera passed away on September 17, 2020 at her home in Colchester, Connecticut. She was born on March 12, 1935 to Nicholas and Harriet Williges in Oakland, California. She grew up in Clearlake Oaks, CA and graduated from Lower Lake Union High School. In 1955 she became a registered nurse, working for 43 years, mostly in ICU and Recovery. She retired from St. Charles Medical Center in Bend, Oregon. She was married to the love of her life for 63 years, Jack Kochera, who passed away in June. After calling Bend home for more than 25 years, Jack and Marilyn retired in NW Arkansas to be closer to their daughter, Yvonne and her husband, John. In 2016, they followed Yvonne and John to Connecticut. Marilyn loved to travel, go plant shopping with Yvonne, and was fortunate to see a lot of the U.S., including most of the National Parks. She will be forever loved by Yvonne and John of Colchester, and her other daughter, Kara Surface, her husband, Terry, and their son, Tyler; all of Sisters, Oregon. In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made in Marilyn’s name to the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals, ASPCA Gift Processing Center, P.O. Box 96929, Washington, DC 20077-7127.
