Mary “Marti” Fasanelli passed away peacefully on June 21, 2025, at the age of 95. Born February 25, 1930, in Saint Francis, Maine, she was a daughter of Archie and Delia Mayo. Following high school, Marti went on to marry the love of her life, Antonio Fasanelli, on April 25, 1953. The couple would go on to build a beautiful life together.

Marti’s faith was a guiding force throughout her life, consistently providing her with strength and grace. Her desire to share the love of Jesus was paramount; her heart for worship evident in everything she did in her life. To everyone she met, both young and old, Marti made sure to tell them that Jesus loved them so very much. Spreading the love of Christ was her joy.

As a devoted homemaker, Marti cared deeply for her family and home. She was passionate about her hobby farm, where she spent joyful days gardening and raising animals such as goats, horses, geese, and ducks. Her talents in producing homemade goat cheese and yogurt were well-known. She would often bake treats with her grandkids. Some of the favorites were her no-bake cookies and her raspberry cake, where she used the raspberries from her garden.

Marti is lovingly survived by her son, Anthony Fasanelli; daughter, Sharon Turner; and grandchildren, Brandon Fasanelli, Aaron Fasanelli, Rebecca Cyr, Danielle Hackley, and Marissa Delikat. Her legacy continues on with her beloved great-grandchildren, Lucas, Arianna, Cierra, Jaya, Jovial, and Evelyn. Marti is also survived by her brother, George Mayo. In addition to her parents, Marti was predeceased by her husband, Antonio; sister, Verla; and brothers, Armand, Albert, Marcie, and Raymond.

Marti’s nurturing ways and generous spirit have touched the lives of many. She will be profoundly missed by all who knew her, especially by her dear family and close friends.

Marti’s family will be accepting guests on Friday, June 27, 2025 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the Aurora-McCarthy Funeral Home, 167 Old Hartford Road, Colchester, CT. A chapel service will take place at 12 p.m. A burial will follow the service at New Hebron Cemetery. If you plan to join us in celebrating her life, it was Marti’s wish that no one would wear black. Bright colors are welcome.
