Mary R. (Romanofsky) Bujnowski

Mary R. Bujnowski, of Colchester, passed away on Thursday, May 11, 2023 at Harrington Court in Colchester. Born December 26, 1923 in Colchester, she was a daughter of the late Joseph and Helen (Govin) Romanofsky. She was the wife of her late husband Richard Bujnowski, during their marriage they traveled in a plane they co-owned, as well as time spent at the shore with family in their boat. He tragically predeceased her in 1968. Mary retired as a secretary of Pratt & Whitney in East Hartford, CT. In her spare time Mary enjoyed shopping and spending time with her family, cake decorating/her secret brownies for every event, day trips with her sisters, maintaining her lawn and flower beds. She was known as a private and quiet person, but would also meet everyone she came across with a smile. She also cherished her close neighbors and the gatherings they would have. She will be forever loved and remembered by her nieces and nephews: Terry Marsie and husband Richard, James Czaja, Barbara Baker and husband Charles, Evelyn Romanofsky, Ellen Pittenger and husband Joseph, Henry Romanofsky, Jr. and wife Barbara, Gray Bujnowski and wife Jill ; and numerous other extended family and friends. In addition to her parents and husband, she is predeceased by her siblings John, Walter, Joseph and Henry Romanofsky, Helen Czaja and Wanda Hamel. A graveside service will be held on Friday, May 19, 2023 at 11 AM directly at Linwood Cemetery in Colchester. In lieu of flowers the family asks that memorial donations be made to an animal rescue of one’s choice.
