Mary Agnes Pizzitola, 60 of Amston, passed away on Monday, December 14, 2020. Born June 14, 1960 in Willimantic; she was a daughter of Leona (Breault) Pizzitola and the late Joseph Pizzitola. Mary attended Hebron schools and graduated from Hale Ray High School in Moodus, CT. She was a communicant of St. John Fisher parish in Marlborough, and was attending daily mass at St. Andrew Church in Colchester. Mary was a very sensitive, sincere, and kind person. She loved nature and would often put out hay and salt licks for deer, and enjoyed walking on the roads around town to observe nature. She had numerous friends and business associates who became friends that kept in contact with her since her recent disability leave from her job as a Sales Administrator Coordinator at Ryder Systems, Inc. Mary was employed in various positions at Ryder over her career; recently she was very pleased to receive her 30 year certificate. Mary’s supervisor at Ryder called her the backbone of the area’s business. She was very missed while she was on disability leave. Now it is a permanent loss not only for her family, but for Ryder System, Inc. Mary will be forever loved and remembered by her mother Leona Pizzitola; her sister Gai (Charles) Savitski; her nephews Christopher Savitski, and Theodore (Jessica) Savitski; cousins Debra Breault, Frances Chesko, and Roberta (Joe) Gagne, and good friend Marie Jones; and many other numerous extended family and friends. A funeral Mass will be held directly at the St. Andrew Church, 128 Norwich Ave. Colchester on Tuesday, December 22, at 11 AM. Burial will follow in the New St. Andrew Cemetery on Gillettes Lane in Colchester. In lieu of flowers please pray for Mary, and offer Masses on her behalf.
