Maureen Annette Nicolo, 81, of Amston, passed away peacefully on Friday, May 30, 2025, at Windham Hospital in Willimantic.
Born on July 27, 1943, in Lewiston, Maine, she was the daughter of the late Maurice LeMieux and Annette Beaudette. On February 26, 1962, Maureen married the love of her life, the late Bart Nicolo. Together, they shared 60 wonderful years of marriage until his passing in 2022.
A talented and dedicated professional, Maureen was the proud owner and operator of her own beauty salon in Hebron for 30 years, where she built lasting relationships with her clients and community. She eventually retired in 1995, leaving behind a legacy of warmth, care, and style.
Maureen will be dearly missed and lovingly remembered by her sons, Bartholomew Nicolo, Jr. and his wife Brenda of Hebron, and Robert Nicolo of Colchester; her sister-in-law, Annette Nicolo of Amston; and her cherished grandchildren: Bart Nicolo III and his wife Kristine of Salem, Kristy and her husband Ethan Brunhofer of Indianapolis, Indiana, Seth Nicolo of Amston, and Ashley Nicolo of Elizabethtown, Pennsylvania. She also leaves behind three adored great-grandchildren, Isla and Crue Shenberger of Elizabethtown, PA and Loretta Brunhofer of Indianapolis, Indiana. along with many extended family members and dear friends.
Calling hours will be held on Friday, June 20, 2025, from 4 to 6 PM at the Aurora-McCarthy Funeral Home, 167 Old Hartford Rd, Colchester, CT 06415.
