Michelle Malloy Obituary

Michelle Tracey Malloy, 35, of Jewett City, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, April 6, 2021 leaving extensive family and friends in shock and sorrow.  Michelle was born December 10, 1985 in Brattleboro, Vermont, to Barbara (Johnson) Watson and James T. Malloy. Michelle grew up in Colchester and spent much time in Marlborough in the loving care of godparents Mike and Linda Malloy. She has been living for some years now in Jewett City. Michelle attended Colchester Public Schools graduating from Bacon Academy in 2003. During her school years, Michelle enjoyed many friendships and forged lifelong bonds with her best friends and their families.  Jessica Niemczyk, Jeanine Simpson, Rachel (Lee) Monaco, Myra (VanCederfield) Meyes, and Michelle shared celebrations, hardships, adventures, and mischief for over 25 years. After graduation, Michelle worked as a waitress in various local establishments. Michelle’s most recent and longest employer was Ruby Tuesday in Lisbon. She loved her job, especially the many close and caring friends she shared her life with in the “Ruby” family. Michelle was creative from a very early age.  Throughout her life she shared her love through her drawings, poems, and her silliness with her friends and family. She also enjoyed cooking and baking for everyone.  Michelle had a keen intelligence and quick wit. She was well-read and was a fun competitor in any kind of game.  Michelle was a unique spirit, generous and loyal to her friends and family.  She had gifts and beauty that many of us were lucky enough to experience. She will be forever loved and remembered by her mother and stepfather Barbara  and  Chuck Watson of Glendale, OR, her brother James Malloy and fiancé Melihna Marshal and niece Mila of Colchester, maternal grandmother Gloria Johnson of Windsor Locks, her close Aunts Donna Johnson and wife Sande Hartdagen and special Aunt and Godmother Linda Malloy, all of South Windsor.  She also leaves her loving aunts and uncles Linda Anderson (David) of Ocala, FL, David Johnson (partner Lori) of Springfield, MA, Jeanne Johnson of Monson, MA, Milton Ainsworth of Broad Brook, Tommy Johnson (Mai) of Windsor Locks, Marie Gratton of Charlotte, NC, John Johnson (partner Dee) of Windsor Locks, as well as numerous other extended family and friends, including her Ruby Tuesday family and Missy Phelon and son Xavier of Norwich. She was predeceased by her paternal grandparents Frank and Rosalie Malloy, special Uncle and Godfather Michael Malloy, Uncles Pat and Richard Malloy, favorite Aunt Tina Ainsworth, Uncle Paul Gratton, her cousin Marshall Anderson, and close friend, Lisa Phelan. Care of private arrangements have been entrusted to the Aurora-McCarthy Funeral Home of Colchester. In lieu of flowers the family asks that memorial donations be made in Michelle’s name to CT Children’s Hospital ArtReach Program, or donate a book to your local library in memory of Michelle.
