Norma Jean Torzsa, 87, of Colchester, passed away on Sunday June 2, 2024, at Apple Rehab in Colchester. Born December 5, 1936, in Eagle Lake, Maine; she was the daughter of the late Leo and Jeanne (Vaillencourt) Dube. Norma married her husband, Robert W. Torzsa in 1976; Norma was a former barber at Doug’s Barber Shop in Hebron until her retirement in 1999. She was a devoted member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses in Colchester and will be deeply missed. Those who knew her well remarked how easy she was to talk to, her cordial personality made numerous lifelong friendships. In her spare time, she enjoyed sewing and cooking meals for those she loved. She is survived by her husband, Robert Torzsa of Colchester; son Mark DeFurio and wife Chris; four grandchildren and numerous other extended family and friends. In addition to her parents, she is predeceased by her sons Michael DeFurio, Frank DeFurio and Bruce DeFurio. A memorial service will be held on Sunday, June 9, 2024, at 12:30 PM directly at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses 297 Westchester Rd, Colchester, CT 06415.
