Patricia Anne Becker, 91, of Colchester, passed away on Thursday, October 24, 2024, at Hartford Hospital surrounded by her family. Born April 25, 1933, in Hartford; she was the daughter of the late John and Gertrude (Johnson) Sheehan. Pat attended St. Augustine Elementary School where she met her lifelong friends of The Birthday Club. She went on to graduate from Mount Saint Joseph in West Hartford. Pat married Alfred Becker On June 16, 1956. They made their lifelong home and raised their family on the Salmon River by the Comstock Covered Bridge. She retired after 20+ years from the State of Connecticut State Police, Troop K Emergency Services Division. Pat loved to travel and had many stories of family camping trips. She and Al drove their camper throughout the United States visiting family and friends along the way. Pat was an avid UCONN Huskies Women’s Basketball fan. She loved gardening and belonged to the Ponemah Club, and loved to go to the theaters to watch musicals. Pat was devoted to her faith, family, and friends. She is survived by her children Anne Fairbanks and husband Rick; Michael Becker and wife Joanne; Mark Becker and companion Robin Saunders and James Becker and wife Nancy Field. Her grandchildren Patrick Fairbanks and wife Sarah; Colleen Fairbanks and her fiancée Jonathan Lawson, and Alexandra Becker. Her great granddaughters Annabelle and Leslie Fairbanks; as well as numerous nieces and nephews and other extended family and friends.
Calling hours will be held on Monday, October 28, 2024, from 3 to 6 PM at the Aurora-McCarthy Funeral Home, 167 Old Hartford Rd, Colchester, CT 06415. Friends and family will gather the following morning on Tuesday, October 29, 2024, from 9-9:30 AM at the Aurora-McCarthy Funeral Home and then procced in funeral procession to the St. Andrew Church 128 Norwich Avenue, in Colchester for a Funeral Liturgy at 10 AM. Burial will follow in the St. Patrick’s Cemetery on Maple Street in East Hampton. In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by an infant son and daughter. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial donations be made to the American Heart Association www.heart.org or to the Haitian Health Foundation www.haitianhealthfoundation.org.
