Patricia Willen Obituary

Patricia Ann Willen, of East Hampton and formerly of Long Island, NY, passed away at St. Francis Hospital in Hartford on January 3, 2025.  She was 90 years old.  Pat was born in Philadelphia, PA, on November 6, 1934.  She was a daughter of the late Francis and Dorothy (Stunkard) Collins.  Pat attended Pratt Institute where she earned a bachelor’s degree in fine arts and later earned a master's degree in fine arts from CW Post College.  She worked in the field of commercial art advertising for most of her career.

On June 10, 1956, Pat married the love of her life, Henry Willen, in New York City.  The couple settled on Long Island, where they raised their family.  In 1996, they moved to Connecticut where they spent their retirement years. Henry predeceased her in 2002.  Pat was proud of her home where she enjoyed creating beautiful flower gardens.  She was a talented artist in both paint and pastel media.  In her free time, she could be found skiing, doing the NY Times crossword puzzles, or playing doubles tennis with her son, Bill, as her partner.

Most importantly, Pat will be remembered as a devoted and loving wife, mother and grandmother who lived life with a unique and lovely sense of humor.  She will be sadly missed but always remembered with love by her children, Bill and wife Barbara of Glastonbury, Matt of VT, Ellen and her partner, Robert, of Fairfield; two sisters, Susann Ciorletti of PA, and Maryann Collins of VA; four grandchildren, Michael and wife Alison, Daniel and wife Michelle, Jackson, and Ian; two great-grandsons, Rhys, and Henry; and many extended family members and friends.  In addition to her husband and parents, she was predeceased by two brothers, Michael and Thomas Collins.

Private funeral services will be held by the family.  In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Isabella Stewart Gardner  Museum  https://www.gardnermuseum.org/join-give/support .  To share a memory of Pat or a condolence for her family, please visit www.auroramccarthyfuneralhome.com .
