Patrick R. Balisano, age 83, of Hebron, CT and formerly of Ave Maria, FL, passed away on March 26, 2022 surrounded by his loving family and extraordinary care giver. Patrick is survived by two daughters, Melanie Balisano, formerly of Hebron, CT, Lindsey Balisano-Hebler and his two grandsons, Walker and Blake Hebler of East Hampton, CT. He is also survived by his two sisters, Dolores Kelly of Suffield, CT and Sandra Warner of Fort Myers, FL, along with many nieces, nephews and friends. Patrick was predeceased by his parents, Patrick and Mary (Evanski) Balesano, his loving wife, AnnMarie (Coates) Balisano and his son in law, Bryan Hebler. Patrick was a devoted, loving and kind husband, brother, father, and friend. He was most proud of his grandsons who he simply adored. Born in Hartford on January 6, 1939, he graduated from Hartford Public High School in 1957. On September 18, 1959, he enlisted in the US Army where he was stationed in Germany. Upon Patrick’s return, he joined the West Hartford Police department and completed the Police Academy on April 3, 1964. Many years later, he left the police department to become an inspector at the State of CT Department of Motor Vehicles. In February of 1992, Patrick retired as Division Chief of the DMV. After retirement, Patrick worked as Gaming Commission Inspector at Foxwoods Casino and later became manager of AAA Auto Club Truck Squad. In Patrick’s early years, he owned Hebron Auto Body Shop and built over a dozen homes in his hometown of Hebron as well. He was an avid lover of classic cars and could be found at many local cruise nights, with his brother in law Bill Decambra. Patrick is no longer here, but his legacy remains. Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, March 30th from 5 – 7 pm at the Aurora-McCarthy Funeral Home, 167 Old Hartford Rd., Colchester. A funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday, March 31st at 10 AM directly at the Church of the Holy Family, 185 Church Street, Hebron, CT. Burial will follow in St. Peter’s Cemetery, Hebron.
