Paul Robert Bednarz

Paul Robert Bednarz, 73, of Marlborough, passed away on Monday, May 22, 2023 at Backus Hospital in Norwich. Born February 28, 1950 in Windsor Locks, CT; he was a son of the late Sigmund and Phyllis (Bancroft) Bednarz. Paul grew up in Windsor Locks and enlisted in the Air National Guard shortly after graduating high school, serving his country honorably, reaching the rank of Technical Sergeant. He later went on to attend Babson College in Massachusetts, and played on the school's soccer team. In 1976 he married his wife, the late Deborah-Ann (Pawchyk) Bednarz  they shared over 30 years of marriage together until she predeceased him in 2006. Through the years Paul worked at numerous insurance companies as an insurance underwriter, in his spare time he enjoyed fishing both fresh and saltwater fish, and taking his family up for annual vacations to the house he built in Cape Cod.  He is survived by his sons Justin and wife Stacey Bednarz and Jordan Bednarz; brother Tom Bednarz and sister Diane Lech; and granddaughter Alaina Bednarz. Care of private arrangements have been entrusted to the Aurora-McCarthy Funeral Home of Colchester.
