Paul Dennis Churchill, 73, of Lebanon, passed away surrounded by family on Friday, January 5, 2024 at Backus Hospital in Norwich, CT. Born September 17, 1950 in Washburn, ME; he was a son of the late Freeman Churchill and Laurine (Marr) Churchill. Shortly after graduating high school Paul enlisted in the United States Marine Corps for 4 years. After being honorably discharged from the Marines, he enlisted in the Air National Guard where he served another 20 years. In addition to his military service, Paul also worked at Pratt & Whitney for 37 years ensuring the quality production of various airplane parts that were put into service. He married his wife, Susan (Sirak) on October 7, 1972. They shared over 50 years of marriage together and raised their family. Paul was an avid Red Sox fan, and enjoyed fishing in his spare time. He loved just hanging out with family and his dog, Sadie. In his younger “wilder” years he would drag race and won several trophies for his endeavors. He is survived by his wife Susan Churchill; children Erin Matthews and husband Steve Matthews, David Churchill and wife Stacey Churchill, Christopher Churchill and wife Trish Churchill; grandchildren Carolyn Gustafson, Jared Churchill, Hanna Churchill, Morgan Matthews, Kennedy Churchill, Carly Matthews and Emily Schweighoffer; great grandchild Bailee Gustafson; brother/best friend Kevin Shields and wife Odette Shields; in addition to his parents he is predeceased by his brother, Neil Churchill. Care of private burial arrangements has been entrusted to the Aurora-McCarthy Funeral Home of Colchester.
