Paul J. Rosati, of Amston, CT, passed away on July 16th, 2025, at Middlesex Hospital. He was 70 years old. In his last mortal days, he smiled and joked with his loving family at his side. Paul was born on March 21st, 1955 in Torrington, CT. He was a son of the late Maurice and Margaret (Kozlak) Rosati. Paul married the love of his life, Margaret Roohr on October 15, 1977. Together, they lived in Bakersville, Winsted, and Granby, before making a home in Amston, CT. Paul worked security at the University of Hartford and then as a police officer at CT Valley Hospital. He retired from CVH after 27 years of service. He then worked at the Plaza Package Store in Hebron where he enjoyed talking with his neighbors and getting to know more of the community. Paul belonged to the National Ski Patrol and had worked seasonally as a DEP officer. He was an avid outdoorsman. Paul loved canoeing, kayaking, hiking, fishing, fly fishing, vacationing by the ocean, watching fireflies, gardening, and cooking. Paul always loved dogs and was predeceased by his last dog, Finbar in 2023. Throughout his life, he enjoyed travel and exploration in the United States with his family and took several trips to Europe with his wife. He was a voracious reader and frequented Douglas Library for new additions. He was a member of the Hebron Sportsman’s Club where he made many valued friendships. Paul was a Justice of the Peace performing dozens of beautiful weddings. He loved bringing family and friends together for celebrations, such as Tomato Fest, Independence Day, or simply (and often) a bonfire in the backyard. The bane of his existence was a temperamental lawnmower. Paul volunteered in his community and was always first to standup to offer help to anyone in need. He was a hardworking family man who will be remembered as a devoted and loving husband, father, brother, and friend to all who knew him. He leaves to mourn his passing his loving wife of 48 years, Margaret; a son, Liam & partner Jessica; a brother, Michael Rosati of Westerly, RI; In-law siblings and their spouses, Barbara Roohr Karas (Francis), Sara (John) Roth, Charles (Laura) Roohr, Quintin (Linda) Roohr, Damien Roohr; and many extended family members and friends. A funeral mass will be held on Saturday, September 13th, at 11am at the the Church of the Holy Family in Hebron, CT.. Donations in Paul’s memory may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Center (https://www.stjude.org/donate/donate-to-st-jude.html) or the American Cancer Society (https://donate.cancer.org). The Aurora-McCarthy Funeral Home of Colchester has been entrusted with care of arrangements.
