Peter Paul Gowac, Sr., 70, of Moodus, passed away unexpectedly at his home on Wednesday, May 29, 2024. Born May 6, 1954, in Middletown, CT, he was the son of the late Stanley and Mary (Nycek) Gowac. Peter was a lifelong resident of East Haddam who enjoyed spending time outdoors. Hunting, fishing, and gardening were some of his favorite activities and his greatest joy in life was his family. The grandchildren affectionately referred to him as “Papa Pete.”
Peter is survived by his children Pete Gowac, Jr and fiancé Erika, Keith Gowac and wife Lindsay, Kelly Ryder and husband John, Jennifer Cochran and husband David, Jess Stone and husband Jeff, Jen Gowac, former spouse Mable Marshall, along with 15 grandchildren.
Care of private arrangements have been entrusted to the Aurora-McCarthy Funeral Home of Colchester.
