Peter Lewis, 70, of Colchester, passed away peacefully on November 3, 2025. He was born on May 10, 1955, the son of the late Ralph and Beulah (Wallbridge) Lewis.

Peter grew up in Manchester, where he graduated from Manchester High School in 1973. As a young man, his father taught him valuable mechanical skills—knowledge that Peter carried throughout his life. Gifted with a natural talent for learning, building, and repairing, he pursued a successful career in information technology and was known for his ability to fix just about anything.

Peter’s greatest joy was spending time with his beloved wife, Mary Ann (MacKenzie) Lewis. Together, they shared a love of the outdoors—whether boating, walking, fishing, or simply enjoying the fresh air.  He enjoyed hunting in the fall for many years with his friends.  Peter was always willing to lend a hand to others and was well known for his generosity and kindness. One of his recent accomplishments was the co-creation, alongside local business Champion Karate, The Cane Fitness and Self Defense program, designed to educate and empower individuals who utilize canes.

Even in passing, Peter continued his lifelong spirit of giving by choosing to donate his organs, providing the invaluable gift of life to others in need.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Mary Ann; his brother, Ron Lewis, and wife, Arline; and his sister, Kathy Lewis Williams, and several wonderful nieces and nephews. Peter was predeceased by his parents and his brother Joe Lewis.

Family and friends are invited to gather for visitation on Friday, November 28, 2025, from 9:30 to 11:00 a.m. at the Aurora-McCarthy Funeral Home, 167 Old Hartford Road, Colchester. A memorial service celebrating Peter’s life will follow at 11:00 a.m.

Peter will be remembered for his boundless curiosity, his helpful spirit, and his love of family, friends, and the outdoors. His kindness and generosity will continue to live on through the lives he touched and the lives he helped to save.
