Phillip “David” Norton Shaw, 89, of Andover, passed away peacefully on December 22, 2024. David was born January 18, 1935, to the late Burpee Shaw and Dorothy (Norton) Shaw in Springfield, Massachusetts. Following high school, David went on to honorably serve our nation in the United States Air Force, marry the love of his life, Susan Shaw, and attend UMASS, earning a Bachelor’s of Engineering. His expertise in the field of engineering led to many opportunities throughout his life, including the opportunity to serve others through owning his engineering business and building their dream home in Cape Cod, MA. David’s strive for continuous knowledge allowed him to invent the heat pump along with holding multiple patents just to name a few accomplishments. David was an avid pilot who chartered several private flights and owned various models of planes throughout his life. David pursued his many passions, but more than all of these things was the unequivocal love of his family whom he always put first. He was the person you could always count on to help you fix or tinker with something or lighten the mood as he hustled you in a good old-fashioned ping pong or chess match. David strived to make the most out of each day creating his “to do” lists.  David wanted each day to finish feeling accomplished and if that wasn’t possible, he was known to say “C’est la vie” or “it is what it is”

David will be dearly remembered and forever missed by all who knew him as the genuine loving husband, father, grandfather, friend, and person that he was. He is survived by his daughter, Wendy Baver; grandchildren Megan Eza, Joseph Eza, James Baver, Steven Baver, along with numerous extended family and dear friends. In addition to his parents, David is now lovingly reunited with his predeceased wife, Susan; brother, Richard Shaw; sisters, Marilyn Gerling and Sandra Tyler; daughter, Pamela Eza; son; Steven Shaw and grandson, Brandon Eza.
