Priscilla D. Prior, of Colchester, passed away on October 5, 2023. Priscilla was born in Hartford on November 6, 1952, to the late George and Doris (LaChance) Dean. She graduated from Northwest Catholic High School in 1970, before attending dental assistant and then nursing school.
She married her beloved late husband, William Prior, on March 30, 1985. The couple then settled in Colchester where they made their home and raised their family. After 28 years of marriage, Bill predeceased her on November 12, 2013. Priscilla was a devoted wife and mother who loved her family above all else. She will be sadly missed but always remembered with love by her children, Christina Prior and Ken Patin, Matthew and Kaitlyn (Palmer) Prior, Jason and Ashley (Gattison) Prior. As anyone who met Priscilla was proudly told, she was also an extremely adoring Mémère to her grandchildren, Amelia, Noelle, Owen and Addison.
Priscilla will also be dearly missed by her siblings, Daniel and Cindy Dean, Robert and Gloria Dean, Mark and Carol (Dean) Gilbert, George Dean, James Dean, John and Jacqueline (Dean) Kiefel and their families, as well as a multitude of extended family and dear friends.
Always the caregiver, she had a long and fulfilling career as an LPN and group home manager before retiring from Oak Hill several years ago. When she wasn’t working, she was volunteering with the Colchester Lions Club and at St. Andrew’s Parish in Colchester. She was known for her love of UCONN basketball, the Green Bay Packers, Elvis and the Beatles. Priscilla loved people and had a unique gift of making everyone feel like family. She touched countless lives, and her spirit will continue to live in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
