Rizal “Rick” Menor Coloma, passed away at his daughter’s home in Colchester where he had been residing, early Sunday morning on July 25, 2021. He was 84 years old. Born on September 21, 1936 in Calayab, Laoag City, Philippines, he was a son of the late Stephen F. and Marcelina (Menor) Coloma. Rizal came to Hawaii in the 1950’s and remained there most of his lifetime. He married Margaret Hernandez, now predeceased, the couple had two beautiful children, Matthew and Patricia. Rizal worked as a Bartender for Host International Marriott for 36 years at the Honolulu International Airport, Honolulu, Hawaii. He retired in 2000. Rizal enjoyed fishing, driving in his Corvette, traveling to his mother land in the Philippines, taking daily long walks, and spending time with the entire Coloma Ohana. He will be sadly missed but always remembered with love by his son, Matthew Coloma, granddaughter, Brooke Coloma and great grandson, Hudson; his daughter, Patricia Fox of Colchester, who cared for him in his final days as he suffered the effects of Glioblastoma Brain Cancer, grandson, David W. White II and his wife Maylanie , great grandchildren, Josiah Tyler, Elijah Rizal, Maykeilah Lei and Amayah Kealanie, all of Las Vegas, NV; a granddaughter, Stephenie Puanani of Colorado, great grandson, Tucker; remaining siblings, brother, Pres Coloma and his wife Hilda of Orinda, CA; sister, Filipinas and husband, Julio Angus of Simi Valley, CA; nephews, Joey, Steve “Bob” Julius and James Boy, Edwin Coloma and his wife, Carol of Big Island of Hawaii; a niece, Edwinna Bruce and nephews Sean and Edwin, JR.; and several extended family members in the Philippines and Hawaii. In addition to his parents and former wife, he was predeceased by his domestic partner, Lenora Dubois. As Rizal was a very private man, funeral services will be held privately according to his wishes.
