Robert "Bob" Judge Obituary

Robert “Bob” Kenneth Judge, age 88, of Colchester, passed away on Thursday, October 15th at Backus Hospital. He was born in North Tonowanda, New York on December 10, 1931. He was the son of the late William and Chrysanthemum (Defields) Judge. He grew up in Tonowanda, New York, Norwich, Connecticut and Hoosick Falls, New York.

As a young man, Bob enlisted in the United States Air Force and proudly served our country during the Korean War. He served for four years and was honorably discharged in 1956. Bob met his bloved wife, Patricia (Potvin) while serving in the United States Air Force in Burlington, Vermont. Bob and Pat were married on September 1, 1956 in Underhill, VT. The couple moved to Connecticut and settled in Colchester, where they made their home and raised their family together. Bob worked as a refrigeration mechanic for Pratt & Whitney for over 40 years. After retiring in 1994, Bob and Pat grew even closer, spending time traveling back to Vermont and enjoying each other’s company; they remained inseparable for over 63 years until Patricia passed away earlier this year.

Bob will be remembered as a kind, patient man known to be happy to help anyone in need. He was a member of the American Legion and was one of the founding members of the Antique Veterans Colchester Honor Guard. Bob enjoyed woodworking and making craftsman furniture; he also would make doll furniture to the delight of his granddaughter’s. Bob was endlessly devoted to his family; they were his complete pride and ultimate joy. He enjoyed yearly Salmon fishing trips with his son Mark and friends to Pulaski, New York.

Bob will be forever loved and remembered by his children, Kim Judge and her husband, Tim Lazuk of Colchester, Dawn Esak and her husband, Gary of South Glastonbury and Mark Judge of Colchester; his grandchildren, Ashley Daudish and her husband, Matt, Katie Lazuk and her fiancé, Josh Burke, William Judge and Caraline Judge; a great granddaughter, Quinn Daudish; and numerous extended family and friends. In addition to his beloved wife, Patricia, Bob was predeceased by his brothers, William, Charles, Donald, Sheldon, David; and his sister, Beulah.
