Rocco Nicholas ("Mr. A") Autorino, Jr.

Rocco Nicholas Autorino, Jr. “Mr. A.”, age 82 of Colchester and formerly of Enfield and Suffield, passed away peacefully at home on July 22, 2020, with his loving wife and children by his side.  Born in Kingston, NY on April 1, 1938, he was the son of the late Rocco and Rosario  Autorino. He earned a Master’s Degree in Music from Hartwick College in Oneonta, NY.  Rocco married the love of his life and First Mate, Margaret “Marge” Coutant on October 9, 1960.  They settled in Enfield and later in Suffield where they raised their family.  Rocco was the Coral Director at Enfield High School where the Chorus was renowned for their talent through his teaching. He was also the Choir Director for the Second Baptist Church in Suffield.  In their spare time, the family loved sailing, which they did throughout their married life.  After retiring in the late 1980’s, the couple sold their home and started on an adventure of love, family, and cruising the open sea on their sailboat, where they found their greatest joy.  Rocco was captain of many boats over the years, sailing up and down the eastern seaboard and around the Florida Keys into the Gulf.  He and Marge were also motorcycle enthusiasts, riding twin motorcycles.  Rocco will be sadly missed but remembered with love.  In addition to his wife Margaret of 59 years, he leaves three children, Michelle (Richard) Stephenson, Nicholas Rocco (Sean) Autorino, Lori (Gabe) Autorino; three grandchildren, Rebecca, Ryan and Nathan Autorino Zaugg; and many extended family and friends.  Funeral services will be held privately according to his wishes.
