Ronald (Ron) Michael Haugh passed away on April 22, 2022. He was born December 30, 1951 in Hartford, CT to Lillian Vandale Haugh and Sherman Haugh; and grew up in “Frog Hollow” where he attended St. Anne School and graduated from South Catholic High School. Ron received his bachelor’s degree from Central Connecticut State University. He then went onto work at The Aetna, The Hartford Courant and the United States Postal Service. He was the friendly face at the Hebron post office window for over 15 years. He was a talented drummer and music enthusiast who loved to tell stories of the joy of playing in a band from the original “Purple Joy”,“Pure Joy”,“Storm” and many more. Ron was most passionate about Rock music. Ron had an immense love of his family and extended family. He was always willing to help anyone in need, and his warm smile and laughter will be missed by many. His love of family vacations started in his youth with family summers at Lac Megantic in Canada. He enjoyed camping and hiking in CT, MA, VT and NH. His love of the outdoors was fostered in Boy Scouts as a youth, and Ron was in leadership roles of Troop 28 Hebron. His love of music and talent for drumming will be honored by helping youth acquire instruments and lessons to hone their talents via the Ronald Haugh Memorial Fund (aka And the Beat Goes On). This fund will be distributed by his family in coordination with the Music Department at RHAM High School. Ron is survived by the mother of his youngest sons Catherine Moore Haugh (Niantic, CT), his Fiancé Linda Capen (Holyoke, MA), his children Jennifer Haugh Asarese and boyfriend Matt (San Antonio, TX), Brandon Haugh and fiancé Erica (Willington, CT), Ryan Haugh (Hebron, CT) and Patrick Haugh (Hebron, CT). His beloved grandchildren Gianni and Tahlia Asarese (South Hadley, MA) and his sisters Dot Haugh Mariano and husband Armand (Melbourne Beach, FL), and Lori Haugh Martin and husband Rick (GA), his nephew Aaron Mariano and wife Becky (Brookline, MA) and niece Ali Mariano Cyr and husband Ken (Bridgewater, MA). Celebration of Life Service to be held May 21, 2022 at Aurora McCarthy Funeral Home (167 Old Hartford Road, Colchester, CT). Calling hours 9-11am with service to follow. Rev. Cheryl Corona presiding. A gathering afterwards to honor Ron will be at Gilead Church fellowship hall in Hebron CT.
