Ronald Anthony Pittori, 87, of Waterford, peacefully passed away on May 4, 2021, after a difficult battle with illness. Ronald was born to Salvatore and Marietta Pittori in Bridgeport, Connecticut, on November 28, 1933. He and his older sister Grace grew up in Bridgeport and New London. Ronald served as an Airman First Class in the US Airforce during the Korean War from 1954 until he was honorably discharged in 1957. Ronnie worked for many years for Blue Cross Insurance and once retired devoted himself to his passion of making fine jewelry where he became a master craftsman in his home jewelry shop. While Ronnie never married, he took wonderful care of his mother and father in their final illnesses. He took much delight in his nephews and nieces and later their children. He would fly out to California every summer to visit his sister Grace and her family. When he no longer wanted to travel, he would pay for his grandnieces and nephews to come to Connecticut to spend some of their summer with them. Ronnie also had many friends he loved deeply. Ronnie was preceded in death by his parents, Salvatore and Marietta, and his sister Grace. He is survived by his niece, Debbie; his nephews, Eric and Christopher; his grandnephews Jonathan, Mark, Joseph and Jeremy; and his grand nieces, Holly, Heidi, Nicole, Melody and Alexus. He will be greatly missed. Funeral services have been entrusted to the Aurora-McCarthy Funeral Home and are private and will be announced at a later date.
