Rosanne Monica Tancredi, 78 of Colchester, passed away on Thursday, November 9, 2023. Born September 10, 1945 in Hartford, CT; she was a daughter of the late Frank and Rose (Santangelo) Lucca.
On November 11, 1967 she married her husband, the late Martin Tancredi; they shared over thirty years of marriage together. After Martin’s passing in 1998, Rosanne returned to school and graduated from Albertus Magnus College in New Haven where she obtained her Bachelor’s in Business Administration. She went on to work at United Health Care until her retirement in 2016.
Rosanne was a woman of considerable faith and she and her husband were communicants of St. Andrew Catholic Church for many years. Rosanne was a talented baker who came from a long line of passionate food makers. She carried on family traditions by passing down recipes to her children, grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. Like many Italian grandmothers, she showed her love through cooking nourishing meals and hosting countless gatherings. For Rosanne, food was love and her company a comfort to all who came into her circle.
Her greatest joy in life came from her family, especially her grandchildren; she effortlessly embraced the role of being a grandmother - and her family was better for it. She loved old movies, dancing, driving around Lake Hayward on Sunday afternoons with her daughter, and the simplicity of summer days spent at the beach. She encouraged everyone around her to explore the things they loved and follow that dream to its end.
She is survived by her children, Monica and husband Gary Alford, Martin and wife Laura Tancredi; her brother Frank Lucca and sister Serena and husband Ron Guerrette; grandchildren Izabella, Gabriella, Micaela, Vanessa and Giovanni Tancredi and Alyssa and Emma Alford; goddaughter and niece Jessica Vanderberg and dear friends Peter and Denise Salmoiraghi; in addition to her parents and husband, she is predeceased by her son Michael Tancredi.
