Roy Clifford Tellier

December 4, 1929 ~ August 25, 2023 (age 93) 93 Years Old

Obituary

Roy Tellier, beloved husband, father and all around good guy, departed this world peacefully August 25, 2023 with his family at his side. Roy was born to Cleophas and Lucy (Bedard) Tellier on December 4, 1929 in Fitchburg, Massachusetts. During his 93 years, Roy was participant in and witness to many of the accomplishments and challenges of the 20th century. Most notable to his historic life would be the 4 years he spent serving his country during the Korean War. Roy joined the Air Force shortly out of high school and was stationed in the isolated Aleutian Islands off the coast of Alaska where he used his skills to decipher enemy messages. Those memorable, if difficult, times provided Roy with many stories that he enjoyed sharing with others throughout the years. Roy finished his active duty service in Washington D. C. where perhaps his most important accomplishment took place. He convinced his future wife, Helen Feury, a beautiful southern belle, to move north with a young Yankee from New England. They married on April 16, 1955. Together they raised their only son David in Leominster and in their free time they danced, bowled and played cards. Roy opened his own auto parts store in Fitchburg and retired after many successful years. Sadly, after moving to CT Helen passed away and Roy was left with a broken heart. Roy’s devotion to Helen was steadfast and unwavering until he drew his last breath. He spent his final months at Chestelm in Moodus CT. We would like to thank them for their kindness and care. Roy will be sadly missed but always remembered with love by his son David and daughter-in-law Lisa Tellier of East Haddam CT, as well as many extended family members and friends in Massachusetts and West Virginia. Roy will join his wife Helen when he is laid to rest with military honors in the Massachusetts Memorial Veteran’s Cemetery in Winchendon, MA. A private family ceremony will take place on August 31 at 11 am. The Aurora-McCarthy Funeral Home has been entrusted with care of arrangements.
