Ruth Crosby Obituary

Ruth Crosby, 85, of Hebron, Connecticut passed away peacefully on Friday, May 28, 2021 at Riverside Heath and Rehab in East Hartford. Ruth is survived by her son, Raymond Crosby and his wife, Michelle, of Palm Coast, Florida; daughter Regina and her husband, Leonard Larson, of Hebron, Connecticut; and daughter Robin and her husband, Kevin Kilton, of Lebanon, Connecticut. She also leaves behind seven grandchildren and their spouses, Leonard Larson Jr. and his partner Stephanie Bendza; Erin Crosby and her partner Aderito Amado; Corey Larson and his wife Lauren; Kelly Larson and her partner Matt Bartkowski; Raymond Crosby and his partner Meg Kelley; Amanda Kilton and her husband Jon Bakos; and Kayla Crosby. Also left behind are seven great grandchildren, Cameron Crosby, Jordan Morales, Jonah Larson, Lucas Amado, Amari Amado, Oliver Bakos, and a baby boy due to arrive in September. She is also survived by many dear nieces, nephews, and extended family members.

Ruth was born in Manchester, Connecticut on March 6, 1936. She was the youngest daughter of seven children of the late Wilfred and Celia (Lundergan) Johnston. She married Roger Crosby on October 28, 1955. The couple made their home and raised their family in Hebron, where they enjoyed 61 years of marriage together until Roger’s passing on July 22, 2016. Ruth worked various jobs throughout her life, including Cheney Mills, driving a school bus for the town of Hebron, and working at family-owned Crosby’s Texaco. She also spent many years working for the US Postal Service as a Letter Carrier before her retirement. She enjoyed bowling, weekly card games with friends, and playing Yahtzee with friends and grandchildren. Most importantly, she was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and aunt, forever devoted to her family.

Funeral services will be private per Ruth’s wishes. Burial will also be private in the Gilead Cemetery in Hebron.
