Salem, CT. Shanaan "Shane" Tae Yousey, 33, of Salem, passed away unexpectedly on July 17, 2021, from injuries sustained in a tragic accident. Born October 8, 1987, he was the beloved son of Jay and Nannette Yousey of Salem. Shane was a graduate of East Lyme Highschool. He had a deep love for baseball which he began playing at a young age and continued to love the sport throughout his life. Shane was an avid outdoorsman who loved snowmobiling, riding ATV’s and fishing. He adored all animals but especially loved his dog, Nitro, who passed away just a few weeks prior. Shane loved fiercely and everything he did in life, he did with that same fierceness. He will be remembered for his contagious smile, big heart and his zest to live life to the fullest; and will be sadly missed by all that knew and loved him. He will be forever loved and remembered by his father, Jay, and mother, Nannette Yousey of Salem; his sister, Naomi and her husband, Nicholas Swider of Salem; his nephew, Landon Swider; his paternal grandmother, Rose Evelyn Yousey; his maternal grandparents Donald and Constance Yousey; and numerous extended family members and cherished friends. He was predeceased by his paternal grandfather, Donald A. Yousey. Calling hours to remember Shane will be held on Wednesday, August 4, 2021 from 5-7 pm at the Aurora-McCarthy Funeral Home, 167 Old Hartford Rd., Colchester. A graveside Christian burial will be held on Saturday, August 7, 2021 at 10 am at the Gospel Hall Cemetery in Belfort, NY.
