Shirley May Fargo of Old Saybrook and formerly of North Franklin, passed away on September 27, 2025.  She was 94 years old.  Shirley was born on April 8, 1931, in New London, CT. She was the daughter of the late Leslie and Dorothy (Powers) Saunders.  Shirley married the love of her life, Albert Fargo in 1960.  They shared 55 years together, raising seven beautiful children in the home they built together in North Franklin, CT.  Albert predeceased her in 2015. Shirley was a homemaker, caring for her family with her gardens, cooking, sewing and anything else needed.  She will be sadly missed but always remembered with love.  Shirley leaves her seven children and their spouses, Lynn White of Waterford, Randy Tanguay of Norwich, Joyce (Dennis) Atwood of East Lyme, Cindy (Jeffrey) Beebe of Westbrook, Carol (Rick ) Loranger, of Waterford, Albert Fargo, Jr. of Wilimantic; 14 grandchildren; many great grandchildren; and numerous extended family members and friends.  In addition to her husband and parents, she was predeceased by a daughter, Susan Moran.   Funeral services will be held from the Aurora-McCarthy Funeral Home, 167 Old Hartford Rd., Colchester on Thursday, October 2nd, beginning with a gathering at 10:30AM followed by a celebration of life service at the funeral home at 11AM.  Burial will be in the Bozrah Rural cemetery, immediately following the funeral.  For online condolences or to share a story of Shirley for her family, please visit www.auroramccarthyfuneralhome.com
