Stacy (Gilbert) Smith, of Manchester, passed away at Yale St. Raphael Hospital in New Haven on June 25, 2023, after a valiant battle with cancer.  She was 44 years old. Stacy was born in Putnam, CT on October 15, 1978.  Following High School, Stacy graduated from UCONN with a bachelor's degree in political science. She used her education to fulfill a career as a Paralegal at The Hartford Financial Services Group.  Stacy married the love of her life, Andrew Smith on July 16, 2008. The couple made their home in Manchester where they lived happily with their two cats, Marcy and Gabby.  She loved animals and would frequently donate money to the ASPCA and other local animal shelters. She also donated toys to children’s charities during the Christmas season. Her passing will be mourned by all whose lives she touched, especially her husband of 15 years, Andrew; her mother, Joy Sapita; step-father, Fred Crocker III; brother, Matthew Gilbert;  father-in-law, Stephen Smith; mother-in-law, Patricia Smith; sister-in-law, Tracy and her husband Donnie McKenzie; many nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends.  A private funeral service will be held at Linwood Cemetery in Colchester Ct later this summer.
