Susan Hendricks, 83, passed away Friday, January 9, 2026, with her family by her side. She lived most of her life in North Franklin, Connecticut. She was a member of the Congregational Church of Franklin, where she taught Sunday school for several years. She had a long an successful career; starting with the Norwich Bulletin, she reported on eastern Connecticut for many years, before moving on to the Shoreline Newspaper as an editor. Later, she worked at Amica Insurance. After retiring, she spent her time crafting, reading, doting on her beloved pets, and working parttime at Foxwoods. Everyone who met Susan loved her immediately. She will be remembered for much, but especially for her heart, her resilience, and her fiery personality. She loved her family above all else. She is survived by her siblings: Irene Glynn, Margaret Macha, and James Hendricks; her children: daughter Patricia and her husband Richard Sablitz; daughter Pamela Trevithick Thibeault; son Jack and his wife Connie Trevithick; as well as seven grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, and many extended family members and friends. She will be dearly missed. Funeral services will be held at Aurora-McCarthy Funeral Home in Colchester. Public visitation is from 10-11am, followed by a celebration of life service. There will be a lunch after at the Polish Club in Colchester. Burial will be private. Donations in Susan's memory can be made to www.pawsct.org or your local animal rescue.
